Benjamin Rice

Assigned a 24-acre house lot at Marlborough Mass in 1660. Sold farmland in Sudbury in 1673. Sued Dr. William Avery for malpractice in 1685 after Avery's son amputated one of Benjamin's legs due to frostbite; the verdict went for the defendant. Married twice: first Mary Brown (m. c. 1662 Sudbury, d. 1690/1) who bore Ebenezer Rice; then Mary Chamberlain (m. 1 April 1691 Sudbury).
