Born 1913 to Charles Leslie Rice Sr. and Adelaide Franklin Crist. Older sister of Barbara F Rice (Brant's grandmother, b. 1912 London). Per Brant 2026-06-05: Winnie and Barb together kept a family cottage in the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa territory in northern Wisconsin (Vilas County) — a meaningful family location that may be the geographic source of the family's 'tribal blood' lore via long-standing Anishinaabe / Ojibwe community proximity rather than (or in addition to) any documented Native ancestry. Died 2003 at age 90.
